Valorant Champions Tour 2023: everything you need to know

The Valorant Champions Tour is a worldwide competitive esports tournament series for the video game Valorant, organized by Riot Games. The first Valorant Champions Tour was announced by Riot Games in November 2020. This tournament series is divided into three tiers the challengers, the masters, and the champions. Those teams that advance past Challengers would move on to Masters, and the top 16 teams from Masters would move on to Champions, the final stage of the tournament of VCT. But the VCT 2023 will be different it will feature three new international leagues making it a 10-team international league in which only selected partner teams can compete. Due to new leagues, there will be more chances to go up against the international competition in the regular season, whereas in the current format many teams only face rivals outside their region at events like Masters and Champions.

Hosting of Valorant Champions Tour 2023

Valorant Champions Tour 2023 will be hosted in Berlin, Seoul, and Los Angeles. The first split will take place from March to May and the best teams from the split will advance further to the master's event in 2023. Riot also said that each location will feature on-site talent providing coverage in different languages for fans around the world.

In 2023, we’re taking everything we’ve learned, adding in new ideas, and forming partnerships that will help us realize our dreams for the next edition of the VCT.

Masters and Champions event in 2023

Masters, the second international tournament of the year will be held in June featuring the best teams from the first split. The best teams will advance to the Champions. This time there will be three last chance qualifiers meaning the teams that weren't able to qualify for the champions will get another chance to perform in July and the winning teams from advance to the Champions that will be held in August.

The Challenger Circuit

Along with the Valorant Champions league, the Challenger circuit will also take place for the teams that have not been selected for the international league. The challenger circuit will have two splits. The first one will begin in January and the second one in March. A total of three Ascension tournaments will be concluded in July, one for every international league. These tournaments will include the best teams from more than twenty different Challengers leagues competing on LAN for advancement into the international leagues.

Challengers Ascension

This is the new tier of competition known as Challengers Ascension. it will feature three Ascension leagues which are EMEA, Americas, and Pacific. One team from each region will compete for the spot in the Valorant Champions league 2024 meaning that the winners of Challengers Ascension 2023 will move up to the international league for 2024.
